Global Internal Communications Manager, Content & Campaigns

The role:

The global internal communications manager will lead on content creation and scheduling across priority internal channels and audiences.  With a passion for storytelling, you will be the “eyes and ears” of the team, using your natural curiosity and journalistic ability to find the nugget of a story.  You will be adept at crafting key messages and narrative content in long-form, to developing tailored, snackable multi-channel engaging assets that reach and resonate with the organisation’s diverse global audiences.  In this role, you will bring all content priorities to life, experimenting with new campaign approaches, measuring impact, engagement and creating the insights to deliver maximum internal engagement. 

Role requirements:

  • Internal Content Creation – Development & Execution:

    • Define content plan and themes aligned to strategic business priorities
    • Proactively seek out and identify stories, case studies, thought-leaders and internal experts to bring business priorities to life to inspire colleagues to deliver transformation and growth
    • Build and maintain story bank ensuring pipeline of content to amplify with ever-green core content for consistency
    • Translate complex information into clear messages communicated in a compelling and simple manner for all colleagues across global markets 

    Point Person for Market and Functional Comms Leads:

    • Build trusted relationships with market communications leads to identify and co-create stories for global audiences 
    • Collaborate with Global Functional Comms Leads/Points of Contact to proactively identify priority content in line with strategic business priorities, fuelling content pipeline

    Air-Traffic Control:

    • Own and manage content calendar
    • Champion colleague’s reality, ensuring effective air traffic control of communications campaigns for maximum people engagement
    • Elevate the right content to the right audiences in the right way to ensure the organisation engages in a timely and targeted manner for maximum impact 

    Creative Campaign Creation:

    • Provide thought-leadership on creative and compelling internal comms and engagement campaign
    • Champion experimenting with crafting multi-media campaign assets to reach all our internal colleagues delivered as editable assets for local tailoring and translation

    Cultural Sensitivity and Accessibility Awareness:

    • Strong cultural awareness with sensitivity to the importance of communicating appropriately to colleagues from across the world, taking into account the evolving wider world context
    • Provide thought-leadership guidance on creating content and campaigns that maximise accessibility to all our internal colleagues

    Measurement and Budget Responsibility:

    • Define KPIs to measure the success of internal communications content and campaigns across our key internal colleague audiences, identifying insights and recommending approaches to continuous improvement
    • Lead identifying, briefing and managing expert internal communications agency partners to create content and campaigns
    • Own and manage agreed elements of the annual internal communications budget aligned to key role deliverables

    Qualifications:

    • A strong track record of developing and executing content at a global or regional level across diverse audiences
    • Creative thinker, self-starter and hands-on doer, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong planning, project management and organisational skills are a must
    • Desire to continuously learn, demonstrating agility, flexibility and growth mindset
    • Experience managing external agencies to deliver high quality value add support
    • Strong business acumen and understanding of business priorities from people to product to performance
    • Ability to turn complex, sophisticated business messages into simple compelling communications for diverse internal audiences
    • Proactively seeks out best practice and champions new, innovative, and creative approaches that drive impact  
    • Strong written and verbal skills with good working English. Fluency in Italian is desirable, but not essential. 
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications is a must with knowledge of Adobe Creative suite applications and film editing skills is a plus

    This role can be fully remote in the UK or can be based in Italy, with 3-days per week in one of the organisations offices. If based in Italy, the salary is c.75,000 euros per annum.
