Internal Communications and Culture Partner

   13-month FTC   |      £55k – £60k      |      West London

Internal Communications and Culture Partner (maternity cover)

The role:

We’ve partnered exclusively with a leading UK sports organisation as they look to hire a maternity cover for their Senior Internal Communications and Culture Manager. This is a 13-month maternity cover with a February/March start and paying up to £60,000.

The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the People Director to develop and deliver the organisation’s culture strategy whilst owning and developing the internal communications and engagement strategy. They’ll need to deliver high quality information to all employees, whether in the office or field based. This role is split between culture, IC and engagement, so the hiring manager is ideally looking for someone who has covered all of these areas in previous roles.

Experience working closely with HR, ideally within a people function would be beneficial, as would the ability to develop a proactive communications plan, rather than being reactive and delivery focused. This is a dual strategic/tactical role with the requirement to ‘get stuck in’ whilst also working closely with the SLT to develop the communications approach, aligning with key business priorities.

It’s an exciting time to join the organisation as they play a key part in hosting a huge global sporting event in 2025. Candidates must be available to start by March 2025 and work from the West London office a minimum of two days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day running of the internal communications and engagement strategy and outputs
  • Ownership of internal communications plans including emails, intranet and events such as festive celebrations, summer parties
  • Own management and development of all internal platforms such as Viva Engage
  • Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure an effective, inclusive and engaging approach to the communications activity, ensuring outputs are meeting the needs of employees
  • Lead the development, communication and implementation of the culture strategy
  • Develop and implement innovative engagement initiatives to help drive employee engagement, in line with the strategic target
  • Engage and influence key stakeholder groups, including the executive and leaders to role model company behaviours and promote positive ways of working

Experience required:

  • Proven experience of managing internal communications, processes and plans and operational delivery
  • Experience or working knowledge of implementing plans to improve organisational culture
  • Experience managing or working on an intranet platform and/or digital platforms
  • Proven experience of managing implementation of culture and engagement plans
  • Experience in either the communication of or leading of the end-to-end employee engagement survey process.
