A new chapter for Comma Partners

by 14 Feb 2025

After nearly 18 years leading Comma Partners, our founder and Managing Director, Virginia, is stepping back from front-line recruitment. From April 2025, Andy Macleod will officially take the reins as Managing Director while also becoming a shareholder in the business.

Andy has been a key figure in Comma’s journey since joining in 2021, driving growth, expanding our offering, and strengthening partnerships across the internal communications profession. Over the past few months as Acting MD, Andy has been leading Comma day-to-day, ensuring a smooth transition and preparing the business for its next chapter. We are thrilled that he will now take on the role permanently, bringing his deep expertise, passion, and commitment to our clients, candidates, and the broader IC community.

Virginia will remain involved as Chairperson and team mentor, providing strategic oversight while stepping away from consulting. After 42 years of working life, she’s looking forward to new adventures – including learning Spanish and training as a celebrant! We know she will continue to be an influential voice in the profession and a valued mentor to the team.

Andy will be supported by Matt Gibbs, who joined Comma in October and has already made a significant impact. Together, they will continue to provide expert support to clients on interim, FTC, and permanent resourcing across internal communications, employee engagement, and change communications.

As we step into this new era, we want to take a moment to thank Virginia for her incredible contribution to the industry and to Comma. Her leadership, insight, and unwavering dedication have shaped the business into what it is today. We also want to thank our clients, candidates, and wider network for their ongoing support.

Comma remains committed to helping internal communications professionals thrive in their careers and organisations find the right talent to drive engagement and change. We’re excited for what’s ahead under Andy’s leadership.
